MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS

AREAS WE WISH TO SUPPORT IN THE FUTURE

The WVSA supports all women Veterans including those experiencing a challenging reintegration into civilian life, by providing them with personal, meaningful interaction, and by connecting them to their communities through networking, volunteerism, and social activities.

Women Veterans are often forgotten and excluded from what is typically thought of as a Veteran. We have served our country in many capacities and we deserve the same recognition as our male counterparts.

We also aim to educate the public, and our peers, with the realization that 'Women Are Veterans Too".

MISSION SUCCESS

  • Providing opportunities for over 750 women Veterans (since our inception) to network and connect to one another

  • Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the UTSA SVA

  • Since 2014, provided over 600 homeless women Veterans with much needed hygiene items

The Women Veterans of San Antonio's mission is to serve, honor, and empower women Veterans from all eras and branches of service. We do this by providing our women Veterans opportunities for networking, socializing, volunteering, and giving back to the Veteran community, all while bringing public awareness to the specific issues of women Veterans.

   VISION

  • Create or be a part of a food pantry for needy, homeless Veterans

  • Have more of a direct, positive, impact on the lives of local homeless women Veterans

  • Become a significant presence  in Haven For Hope; specifically for their Veteran residents
